Pfizer Inc. has approved the generic version of Valtrex®, Valtrex® 1000mg, and Valtrex® 800mg tablets to treat herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection in adults. The drug is a new therapy against herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV), and is the first to offer Valtrex® generic.
